Pauline Crouse: Felted Art

Pauline Crouse, a theatrical stage manager from Scotland, with a degree in Fine Art (Sculpture) created her first needle felted bear in 2008. Two years later and with a huge stock of bears and other creatures, she took part in her first market for a local charity and was overwhelmed by the support she received.

Brown Bag Bears LLC was officially formed in 2014 after moving to Columbus MS where she has been welcomed and encouraged.

Since 2015 Pauline has expanded her art to Needle Felted Paintings; a process that uses barbed needles to matt and interlock wool fibers (Merino Cross and New Zealand Corrieadale) together, blending colors to make a portrait.

Pauline has exhibited in Ocean Springs, Meridian, Oxford, and Columbus MS and enjoys teaching the occasional class.

As well as accepting commissions for pet portraits and bears, Pauline has worked closely with Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary, creating portraits of their residents for auction; a worthy cause.

Pauline is married to a professor of theatre at the W and they have a son and daughter. All live happily with a rescue tabby cat and an Australian Labradoodle.
